iPads for Learning takes off at primary schools

26th November 2020 – Tags: iPads for Learning

iPads for Learning has launched across our five primary schools during a day of celebrations.

The event, which saw all Year 4 students provided with their own iPad to power up their learning in school and at home, was marked with a special unboxing ceremony.

The excitement and wonder on the faces of children was brilliant to see as 269 students in Year 4 received their iPads, learnt about how they will be used as part of their learning and took part in activities using their iPad for the first time.

Fully embedded into the curriculum, iPads for Learning will create inspiring learning experiences, maximise learning and progress, and provide children with the skills needed for their future - helping unlock their academic and personal potential.

Speaking on the launch, Dawn Haywood, Deputy CEO and Education Director said:

"It's a really exciting and significant day that recognises the hard work of staff across the ¿ìߣÊÓƵ family and a strong partnership with parents.

iPads for Learning will transform our teaching and learning in school and at home. It is part of our ongoing commitment to providing a world-class curriculum and digitally rich environment that equips students with the skills they need for their future.

We want students to aim high and be the very best that they can be. iPads for Learning will help achieve this, enabling students to unlock their academic and personal potential, and shape the world of tomorrow."

Matt Meckin, Director of Primary at ¿ìߣÊÓƵ added:

“The brilliant unboxing events will stay in students’ memories forever. Our children cannot wait to get started using the iPads in their lessons, and we look forward to seeing the creative and inspiring learning that staff and students create."

Following the launch in our primary schools, the next phase of iPads for Learning will be implemented in our secondary schools where all Year 7 students will soon be receiving their iPads.
