Celebrating the Official Opening of Windsor Olympus Academy with Baroness Campbell of Loughborough, DBE

On Thursday, July 11th, Windsor Olympus Academy celebrated its official opening, marking a significant milestone in our journey since welcoming our first students in September 2023. This momentous occasion was graced by the presence of Baroness Campbell of Loughborough, DBE, whose support and encouragement were instrumental in making this day truly special.
A Warm Welcome
The day began with a warm welcome in the Laurel, where guests were greeted with refreshments, setting a celebratory tone for the event. The excitement was palpable as students performed the inspiring "Aspire" song, embodying the spirit and aspirations of Windsor Olympus Academy.
Inspiring Speeches and Presentations
The morning continued with speeches and presentations that highlighted the school鈥�'s vision, and purpose. Dawn Haywood, 快撸视频 CEO, delivered a heartfelt welcome address, followed by an insightful presentation by Headteacher Sally-Jo Wilkinson, who shared the school's educational ethos, state-of-the-art facilities and wonderful work within the community. Hearing from our students, Seanna and Alexander, added a personal touch, as they passionately shared their experiences and hopes for the future. A parent, Mrs Warren also spoke, providing an affective perspective on the school's impact on her child's life.
The Official Opening
The highlight of the event was the official opening ceremony in the Arena. Dawn Haywood introduced Baroness Campbell, whose inspiring words resonated deeply with everyone present. With great pride, Baroness Campbell officially opened Windsor Olympus Academy, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our educational journey.
Exploring the Academy
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to join guided tours of Olympus, showcasing our exceptional facilities and diverse activities. From a basketball demonstration by the Birmingham Rockets to interactive sessions in cooking, dance, and music, the tours highlighted the vibrant community within Windsor Olympus Academy. Visitors also explored our Community Hub, learning about its pivotal role in serving the neighbourhood of Winson Green.
Lunch Together
The event concluded with a delightful buffet lunch in the Learning Resource Centre, where everyone gathered to enjoy a meal together. The atmosphere was filled with lively conversations as guests discussed the amazing things they had seen and experienced throughout the day. It was a perfect end to a day of celebration, bringing together students, staff, parents, and dignitaries in a shared moment of reflection and excitement for the future.
